Our Little Helmet-Head

Ethan finally got his helmet. He will have to wear it for 3 months all the time. Only comes off for baths. It's amazing how they can re-shape his head though. It's so cute already, but it'll be nice for him to have a "symmetric" head. We've been making all the jokes from "So I married an Ax Murderer" about his huge cranium and giant pilla. (pillow) Sorry, only you Mike Myers fans will probably get that.

The kids are going to dress him as some "helmet" guy from the X-Men. I don't know that show, but if you are an X-Men person, you'll probably know the character they mean.

He is such a happy boy. I'm sure the time will go fast- the before and after pictures from other babies that have worn the helmet are miraculous. His head isn't as bad as some of the others.

Don't mind the stained jammies, I had to get the picture when I could, his mom was in a hurry.

You can see the "mist" forming - poor thing, it must be hot, but he doesn't seem to mind too much.

Well, it's been a busy week. Ethan got his helmut, and will have to wear it for three months. I've got some cute pictures of them fitting him for it and casting his head, but they are color copies from the doctor's office and they don't scan very well. I thought you'd get the idea with these. He's such a little sweetie.

We went to the Rocky Point Haunted House the other night, but I forgot to take my camera. It's their last year. We will be going to a spook alley they do in our neighborhood every year, so I'll try to remember to get some pictures there. Everything else is good. No news is good news, right? Gotta go. Love to you all, xoxoxoxox Helen

Logan's 11th Birthday

We celebrated Logan's 11th birthday. This is his "I love money face". He's such a nice kid, and growing so fast. He's in 5th grade and is reading on an 8th grade level. I can't believe he is 11 years old, seems like he was just born.

This box is huge! What could possibly be in there?

Oh man, another box? These kids can't take much more suspense.

Mom and Dad think they are sneaky, but I think I know what this is....YIPPEEEE

Logan was so excited about his Ipod. And Bailey kept the secret for 2 weeks. He was really surprised and happy. I gave him a $25.00 dollar gift certificate for Itunes and Stef had it all loaded up with songs and pictures. He was in heaven.

Cameron was having a blast with Logan's "whoopee cushion". My mother would have HATED that thing!

Watching Logan open his present.

Ethan's stunned by all the noise from the kids. He gets his helmet in a couple of weeks.

Hailey always ends up cuddled up next to Stefany. She loves her aunt so much!

Bailey was showing off her tumbling/gymnastic skills.

Well another couple of weeks has passed. We celebrated Logan's 11th birthday on Friday and went to see "Open Season". That was pretty funny, but still not as funny as Over the Hedge. I nearly split a gut on that one, might have to buy it. Anyway, Logan had asked for an Ipod for his birthday, but his parents told him they couldn't afford it. But they did get it for him and even Bailey kept the secret. He had no idea he was getting it and it was fun to see him so excited. He loves music and Stef loaded it up with his favorite songs. He can load his Harry Potter books on there as well, or go to Itunes and spend his gift card for more songs.

Everyone seems to be doing well. Scott looked good in his new long leather coat, very dashing and Spike-like. (Buffy reference). The kids were all happy and noisy and showing off their skills from their tumbling class. Vanessa and Cedes went as guests with Logan and Bay to their tumbling class and they all loved it. Bailey is really a go-getter, and can do back-bends and flips and stuff. She is not afraid of anything, but she scared the hell out of me a couple of times. Anyway, it's fun to see them all together. Cameron was having a blast with that "whoopee cushion". I don't know what is so funny about farts to little boys, but they sure tickle their funnybones.

I'm feeling better, but I don't think this smaller dose is working very well on my blood sugar. It's gone up about 20-30 points and I may have to go back to the 10 mg shots. I hate to do it, but if I can keep my sugars down in a good range and keep losing weight, maybe I can give them all up eventually. Oh well, what the hell.....our familiy history will kill us all eventually with something no doubt. Anyway, we love and miss you all. Leave your comments if you want, I'd love to hear from you. Love, Helen
